Aid for the eyes
The Junior Chamber International Cagayan de Oro chapter headed by Doctor Bong Ubay-bay together with the Cataract Foundation and the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich spearheaded by our Honorable Mayor Clive D. Quiño gave free eyeglasses to the lucky 51 students of Manolo Fortich National High School (MFNHS). It is of great opportunity that these organizations have worked together as one to aid the needs of the children who are visually impaired.

Words of inspiration
Dr. Bong reminded the lucky recipients to take care of their eyes by using their eyeglasses properly. He also oriented them on how to deal with bullying. He reiterated that the wearing of eyeglasses doesn’t make anyone any older; it makes them someone who is self-loving. Wearing it means you love your eyes because you want to see how beautiful life as it is. Blessed and inspired by the words of the doctor, their smiles are immeasurable as each of them received their new pair of eye glasses.

As quoted from Ryan Lompon, one of the recipients "Today was a blessing, I have been wanting to change my glasses but we don't have money to buy one. Thanks to the people behind this project, I will be able to study and see how wonderful the world is.."
Prior to MFNHS, Alae National High School was also a recipient of the said project.
